What are Normal figures for Diabetes before and 2 hours after dinner?
The Canadian Meters do not read the same as USA meters – Please tell me the numbers in the USA what your blood sugar should be BEFORE EATING and 2 HOURS AFTER EATING.
Canadian figures should be: 5 before and 7 2 hours after

This can have many different answers depending on what your treatment is and what guidelines you go by. Before eating your blood sugar should be “normal”…between 70-110 (or 120 again, depending on who you ask), but this will vary depending on the treatment. For instance, some one who is insulin sensitive will want to stay on the higher side of normal to prevent lows. After meals, according to the ADA, under 180…which is too high IMO. Endocrinologists recommend under 140, but most endo’s really like to see something closer to your 7mmol (126 for us, which is the starting point to diagnosis in the US)
