When you cut something out with a plasma cutter there is slag left over you have to remove. This slag is officially called “dross” when it come to plasma cutting. It’s the title and focus of a new video produced by the Emory Latino Diabetes Education Program (ELDEP) aimed at empowering patients to live their healthiest by controlling their diabetes. The video, which took two years to complete, is the brainchild of Guillermo E. Umpierrez, MD, professor of medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism at Emory University School of Medicine, and chief of Diabetes and Endocrinology at Grady Memorial Hospital. “In places where diabetes education in Spanish is unavailable, this tool will provide patients living with diabetes with critically important information about diabetes self-management,” says Umpierrez. I am not diabetic, but my grandfather was. So i just got a machine and my fasting levels are always normal from 80 to 103, most of the time around 95. But! sometimes 1 hr after normal eating is 170, sometimes only 95, most of the time around 150. Readings within 2 minutes (1 hr after eat) can be 146 to 166, 2 hours later almost always levels are below 120.My age is 37.
