Is a blood sugar level of 71 normal around 6 oclock when lunch was eaten at 12?

I have been curious as to what my blood sugar has been lately so I have been using my mother’s machine to test it as she is a diabetic. I have just recently been off Xanax and suspect that my sugars are low from this(I have an anxiety disorder so its hard to tell if my sugar is causing it) I had a physical done a few months back and it came out ok however when I came home from work today my blood sugar was 71. Is this normal or a cause for concern? Yesterday morning I took it after fasting and it was 86.

when and how often does a person test blood glucose levels?

my mother in law has been diagnosed with stage 2 diabetes. she is on medication in pill form. my question is how often and when should she be testing her glucose levels and why does she say she cannot eat when the number reaches a certain level?

fasting blood sugar level 300?

I went to my dr for a screening, my paternal grand mother, my father, 2 of his sisters, my paternal aunts are all diabetic [adult onset in late 40's or later, so I decided to get checked. after not eating after 8:00 P.M. I went to the dr at 8:45 A.M. for the urine test and blood work. After 3 days I called the office [they didn't bother to call me] the nurse said my blood sugar level was 300 and it was perfectly normal. When I told my mother what she said, mom said she was full of sh*t can y’all help out here.
Thanks
thanks to everyone for your answers, I have an appointment with a new Dr and will be following up on this. I requested copies of my file from the old DR and have been advised to file a complaint with the AMA for being given bad medical advice. I did double check with the dr. on a second visit and was told 300 was a perfectly acceptable bs level even on a fast and it was nothing to worry about. the dr. told me I needed no further treatment. !!?

what is the blood sugar normal range?
