Gestational diabetes and normal blood sugar after delivery?

Do any of you had gestational diabetes ‘who were treated with “INSULIN”‘ and then your blood sugar came to normal after delivery? Was you blood glucose came to total normal reading while taking insulin? Please share your experience. Thank you in advance.
Thank you Jasmine. And congratulations that you are no more diabetic. :) When you were in medicine, was your blood sugar came to normal level??

Should you eat if your blood sugar is normal but high?

I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, so I test my blood sugar at least 4 times per day, but I’ve never had an abnormal reading. Most of my readings are between 64 and 88, including after eating. I don’t take insulin.

Occasionally, when I cheat from the diabetes diet (e.g., eating fast food or large quantities of sugar) I will get readings that are normal but high for me (e.g., between 94 and 104).

If I get a “high for me” reading at a time of day in which I would ordinarily eat a snack, should I go ahead and eat the snack? On one hand, I think I should to be consistent and keep my body used to producing insulin at that time of the day. Also, my blood sugar tends to crash into the 60s within a couple of hours if I don’t eat after getting that high of a reading.

On the other hand, I’ve seen several people on here be told never to eat when their sugar levels are high. I don’t know if that logic applies only when the blood sugar readings are abnormally high, or if the logic should also apply to the situation I am describing.

Can prenatal vitamins throw off blood glucose levels?

I’m 28 weeks and was yesterday diagnosed with gestational diabetes. so I have to monitoe my carbs intake and check my glucuse levels 6-7 times a day.

I take my prenatal vitamins with my dinner, since they make me nauseaous if I take them without food. Will they effect the glucose levels. I have to test before meals and 1hr. after meals.

Are these blood sugar levels alright? (Gestational diabetes)?

Do these levels seem alright? I thought they were a little low .. my doctor said that 2 out of 4 levels were high for my 3 hour GTT and that they weren’t even that “bad” .. but regardless I’ve been diagnosed with GD and I’ve been following the diet fine .. and I only started the diet yesterday .. but do these seem normal? The doctor wants me to stay under 90 for fasting and under 130 an hour after meals. (NOT two hours, one hour!)

Day 1
F-81
B-103
L-105
D-91

Day 2
F-92 (2 over my ideal .. not that bad I don’t think!)
B-120
L-98
D-111

Just worried .. thanks! :)
pegz64 — no they don’t, my doctor said under 130 an hour after the three big meals (breakfast, lunch, & dinner) .. i think i already said this?
& why would I need 3-4 times the insulin when I’m not on any insulin in the first place .. ? My doctor’s office said it’s very rare for them to put anyone on insulin .. & I am not on it!

How many weeks is normal for delivery with gestational diabetes?

I am 33 weeks along with gestational diabetes. I have been doing very well with my blood sugar levels and my diabetes is controlled by diet.

Is it likely that my doctor will let me carry to 40 weeks?
