I have hypothyroidism should i monitor my glucose levels?

I have hypothyroidism, taking levothyroxine, and My doctor had me tested for diabetes haven’t got the results yet. I have a monitor, test strips, lancents not given to me by my doctor, but some one in my family gave it to us for some reason not sure. it works perfectly. Would it be a goood idea to check my glucose levels every know and then would it give me any idea wither i have diabetes? Is it good to know your glucose levels. How often should i check it?

How do I make my blood pressure seem normal after fasting?

I have to go to the doctor on Tuesday (mom said so… I didn’t get a choice) and I’ve been doing a celery and water detox thing that I don’t want my doctor to know about. But I’m worried that she’ll check my blood and notice that the sugar level is low… How do I make it seem higher?

Are these blood sugar levels alright? (Gestational diabetes)?

Do these levels seem alright? I thought they were a little low .. my doctor said that 2 out of 4 levels were high for my 3 hour GTT and that they weren’t even that “bad” .. but regardless I’ve been diagnosed with GD and I’ve been following the diet fine .. and I only started the diet yesterday .. but do these seem normal? The doctor wants me to stay under 90 for fasting and under 130 an hour after meals. (NOT two hours, one hour!)

Day 1
F-81
B-103
L-105
D-91

Day 2
F-92 (2 over my ideal .. not that bad I don’t think!)
B-120
L-98
D-111

Just worried .. thanks! :)
pegz64 — no they don’t, my doctor said under 130 an hour after the three big meals (breakfast, lunch, & dinner) .. i think i already said this?
& why would I need 3-4 times the insulin when I’m not on any insulin in the first place .. ? My doctor’s office said it’s very rare for them to put anyone on insulin .. & I am not on it!

How does a doctor differentiate between type 1 diabetes and type 2…?

Also, are fasting blood sugar levels an accurate diagnostic test because i heard people with diabetes type 1 can have normal blood sugar levels from fasting but not after eating… is that true?
I know type 1 makes no insulin and type 2 makes little insulin but how does a doctor know? Are blood sugar levels higher in type 1 then in type 2? Is there a blood test to determine it?

Is it normal to here “call your doctor” when getting lab results?

I did lab work for 12 different things about a week ago. I called today to get the results and heard “normal” on all but 4 lab tests; my thyroid test, Liver function test, Kidney function test, and the fasting blood sugar level test. I was told “call your doctor” on the recording for those results. I have a message in to the doc. but I am curious and hoping someone else can tell me….Should I be worrying? Is that normal to have to call the doctor? Thanks for the answers!

Normal blood sugar levels?

Fasting – 9:30 AM – 72
1 hour after breakfast (bowl of Special K) – 12:30 PM – 104
1 hour after lunch (1 can Beef-a-Roni) – 2:00 PM – 123
2 hours after lunch – 3:00 PM – 85

My doctor said I have Gestational Diabetes. I saw a dietitian today, so I am starting my diet tomorrow. My levels seem fine though? Just curious, because I don’t see the issue here besides my unhealthy eating. (WHICH IS NOT NORMALLY WHAT I DO!)

Where is the problem? Are these normal?

How are the levels low? I was told to keep my fasting level below 90 and an hour after a meal to be below 130. I don’t see how they are low.
My doctor said to test one hour after eating, but I have been testing 1 AND 2 hours after. :)

I figured. My doc is an idiot sometimes. I really feel for you diabetics, I have a higher chance of developing it later on in life now that I have GD, and I know this isn’t a picnic so I can only imagine how it is for you guys! :(

Can I live a normal life with diabetes 1?

The doctor I went to said I can live as long as anyone else, and shouldn’t go blind or anything as long as I keep it controlled. Will it be a hassle? Any thoughts?

Normal blood sugar levels for GD?

Where is the problem? Are these normal?
Nope, I fasted 8 hours before the test like my doctor told me to. I just don’t understand how I was diagnosed with it, although I do have risk factors (overweight, not too active pre-pregnancy, etc) but really I don’t get it because my readings look normal to me, and if I were to show them to the doctor they’d say they were normal too, I think? I am following within guidelines, my doctor said below 90 for fasting and below 130 an hour after eating. My doctor’s office is full of morons, they probably switched mine with someone else’s, as they’ve screwed up 90% of EVERYTHING that I’ve been through there since my first appointment.

does someone know whats the normal average for blood sugar levels after eating for a pregnant type 2 diabetic?

i know whats the normal levels for a NON-PREGNANT but not for a pregnant woman, i’m pregnant right now. my doctor told me that i have to be between 80-95 fasting and 140 after eating. its very strick i know its for my own good but what do you think about this?
