Non-fasting sugar levels same as fasting sugar levels?
I had to drink sugar water before having my blood drawn for glucose test, and my levels were exactly the same as when I was on a 12 hour fast. Not higher.
Does this mean anything?
Is this normal?
Thanks!

This is normal. When you fasted, your body used up the glucose reserve it had stored in your cells and muscles so your sugar would not drop during the fasting period. This is a protective mechanism in place to keep your body working normally. When you drank the sugar water, your glucose should have went up some, but if it didn’t that is fine too. That means you have a very healthy pancreas that is doing its job producing insulin. When you drank the sugar water, your pancreas kicked in to over drive and cranked out the insulin to meet the demands of your body. Your results are perfectly normal. Do not be concerned.
